Any family may access a place for care or education wherever they live. However, the centre has an admission policy which is strictly adhered to. (Please see our policy below.) The aim is to ensure that all places at the centre are allocated in a fair and flexible way which best meets the needs of the children, families and the local community.
Places are allocated on a waiting list basis and in conjunction with our admissions criteria.
Upon allocation of a place, all children need to be settled into the nursery by their parent or other familiar adult. Children accessing their early education place in the 'over 3's' (15 hours per week in the term after they are 3) will receive an invitation to a "meet and greet" evening. This will give both children and parents the opportunity to meet their teacher and key person and to sample some typical nursery activities. Following this, each child will receive a home visit from their teacher. The visit enables staff to meet children on familiar ground and to start to get to know their likes, dislikes, interests etc. At the visit a starting date for nursery will be given and arrangements made to settle the child into the setting.
Linked to our Admissions policy is our Attendance policy as we believe that regular and punctual attendance will enable children to make the best start to their education. Please see our policy below.
