22.02.10

This term we will be looking for signs of spring which we hope is just around the corner. The children will be exploring flowers and plants such as daffodils, snowdrops, tulips, and primroses. We will be discussing farm animals and their young; and all new life at this time of year. This leads us on quite nicely to all the new lives that have recently arrived in our own community.

Welcome to Melissa, Evie, William and Leo.

And good luck to all the parents who are due to have babies very soon, which we have to say, is quite a number! Best wishes to you all.

Claire Dickson has taken over Courtney’s group of children while she is on maternity leave; Courtney is hoping to be back in October.

Toddle Waddle.

In April we will be holding a Toddle Waddle. This will be a short sponsored walk for children under 3 and family members if they are able to come. The actual date and times to be decided and we will send out sponsor forms nearer to the time. The money we collect will go to Barnardo’s charity and towards next Christmas (we are staring early this year!)

At our last event we raised £571.92; let’s hope we manage to collect more this time.

On the run up to Easter, the children will be baking, egg rolling and hopefully going on a short trip to one of the local parks. Our 2 teachers, Mrs Wood-Doyle and Jean Nicholls will be accompanying us. Since they started in the toddler department they say how impressed they are with how hard the children work, their concentration levels and with their zest to learn. The children are interested in all the activities and keen to get involved. This is brilliant for children so young.

Footy Totz

Unfortunately the toddlers will not be attending the Footy Totz sessions at the community centre anymore but we will soon be having an instructor coming to the centre to take the children for a “Games Session” which will include some ball skills and other sports.

Please remember!

No medication, either prescribed or “over the counter” medicines must be left in the children’s bags on their coat pegs. Please hand to a member of staff, labelled with the child’s name, it will be stored in a locked First aid box. Thank you.

The toddler’s staff are asking if parents/carers could bring a spare set of clothes for their child. Sometimes the children have “accidents” or spill things on their clothes and we are finding it increasingly difficult to find items that fit! A spare set in their bags would be much appreciated.

Dates for your diary.

The whole centre will be closed on Friday 2nd and Monday 5th April for Easter.
