Last term we had two successful trips out, one to visit the Lowry Art Gallery at Salford and the other to China Town in Manchester. The children also enjoyed our dragon walk around the estate and tasting Chinese Food.
Training Days
Our training days for staff on Monday and Tuesday 22nd/23rd February, involved us taking part in "Fire Training" and "Safe-Guarding".
This Term
This term the children are going to be learning all about life-cycles, Spring, new birth and Easter. In problem-solving, Reasoning and Numeracy, the children will be looking at patterns in the environment and copying and making thier own patterns. Our core books are "Little Lumpty", "Farmer Duck" and "Are you my Mother?" A copy of plans for this term is on the notice board. Please feel free to ask if there is anything you don't understand or that you want to know about these.
Trips
In conjunction with our work on new life, we hope to organise some visits to Cannon Hall Farm for parents and children. Please look out for the list on the door and sign up if you are able to go with your child. There will be a small number of spaces for children whose parents are unable to accompany them due to work commitments. We hope to run four trips, starting Wednesday 3rd March. The cost for this trip will be £3.50 per person - this includes admission to the farm and transport to and from the farm. Please take packed lunches and suitable clothing!! This was very successful last year with some groups experiencing the birth of a lamb.
We are also hoping to visit the Church in Broadbottom to look around and hear a short talk about Easter.
BRING YOUR MUM TO NURSERY!
On Friday 12th March to celebrate Mothering Sunday, we are inviting children to bring their mums to nursery. On this day we will be making lots of "treats" for mums and will be serving tea/coffee and biscuits.
