This exciting project, in liaison with High Peak Community Arts, aims to promote a joy of books through creative activities with early years children and their families. The artists involved have been asked to choose a book they like and develop fun, creative activities to bring the book to life.
In our first session fifteen families (18 adults and 17 children) joined us on Friday 9th October from 9.30 -1100am in the large hall for a creative morning with artists Jim and Katy. Jim made drawing robots with parents/carers and their children and Katy brought exciting craft materials to experiment and play with. We made big and small robots using all these materials, lots of which are available at home. The session was based on the book Robots, Robots, Everywhere by Sue Fliess. We all learned a lot and had great fun too! We hope you agree when you see the photos below.
