About Us

Gamesley Early Excellence Centre is a Children’s Centre which is a comprehensive resource for children and families. The Centre is open from 7.30am to 6pm, with some evening courses for adults. We provide 27 different services, which are described on this site, but our core services are:

  • Early Years Education
  • Enhanced resource for children with additional needs

  • Support for Childminders

Our nursery school provides for 60 full time equivalent children aged 3-5years

We enrol children shortly before their third birthday and give them 6 hours (2hours x 3days) free settling in place before moving onto 12 hours 30 mins at the age of 3years. The term after a child is then entitled to 15 hours of nursery education.

Our care company provides care for up to 84 children aged 0-11 years. At present the fees are as follows:

  • Under three - £15 per morning 7.30am-12.30pm including breakfast and lunch, £15 per afternoon, 12.45pm-6pm, including tea. £30 all day
  • 3 - 5 years – The care is added to the free 15 hours nursery education entitlement and is £2.75 per hour plus meal costs (£1.85 Lunch, 90p Tea and 20p per snack). There is full integration of nursery school and wrap around care.
  • 5 - 11 years – The out of school club operates before school (7.30-9am) after school (3.30-6pm) and in the school holidays (7.30-6pm). The fees are: Before school - £5, After school –until 5.30 - £7, until 6pm - £8, Holidays - £15 am, £15 pm, £30 all day 7.30-6pm. All fees include delivery and collection of children by minibus and meals.

We also have a parent and toddler group in the nursery on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons where parents can spend time with their child prior to starting nursery.

The crèche is a temporary session place for parents who are accessing adult education.

We are a Centre with a large multidisciplinary team comprising of teachers, family support workers, health workers, tutors, clerical staff, domestic staff, crèche staff and life long learning staff and we are commitment to quality.

We have had 2 OUTSTANDING Ofsted reports in 2002 and 2007
