Our Aims
The aims of Gamesley Early Excellence Centre are:
- to integrate in one building the statutory services for the under fives, including the department of Social Services and the Education Authority
- to use all placements in a flexible way according to the varying needs of the families living in Gamesley and surrounding areas, so as to be supportive to the family, not as a replacement for it
- to provide the expertise of qualified nursery teachers, social workers and family support workers working together for the individual child and family, to provide the best available care and education
- to provide, where appropriate for the family:
- a place where they are content to leave their child
- a place where they are always welcome
- a supportive service
- an educational service
- an information service
- to help the children to attain their appropriate stage of development in social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills by continually defining and fulfilling their individual needs
- to keep clear records of children's progress
- to achieve mutual respect between parents and professionals
- to make the separation of child and family as smooth and happy as possible
- to maintain close links with appropriate infant and primary schools
- to work closely with agencies involved in providing support and guidance for the family
- to develop as an accepted part of community life
- to continually assess and, if necessary, rethink the strategies used to achieve our aims through regular staff meetings
- to offer equal opportunities to all children and adults who come into contact with the Centre regardless of race, gender, class, religion or disability
- to involve the parents in the education and care of their child as much as possible
- to develop staff expertise and to offer continuous support to all Centre personnel.
