SEN Provision
Our aim at Gamesley Early Excellence Centre is that all children with special educational needs have access to a broad and balanced curriculum. To provide these opportunities we have a variety of resources.
We employ a part-time teacher who identifies and plans for children with special educational needs (SEN) as well as liaising with outside agencies. Each child who is identified as having special educational needs has their own Individual Education Plan (IEP). This is monitored and reviewed on a six weekly basis alongside consultation with parents.
At Gamesley Early Excellence Centre we have children at each stage of the SEN Code of Practice. This includes children on Early Years Action, Early Years Action Plus and children at the Statutory Assessment Stage. All children with identified special educational needs have access to an inclusive education and take part in all aspects of the Foundation Stage curriculum.
At Gamesley Early Excellence Centre we also employ a Family Support Worker for Language Development. This role involves liaison with the Speech Therapist who visits the Centre on a regular basis.
We believe in the importance of observing, monitoring, assessing and recording children’s developments in order to gather information on all of our children. This information then helps us to provide a broad and balanced education to all children, including those with special educational needs.
