Supervised Contact

The courts may direct social services to organise supervised contact for parents who have become separated from their children for a variety of reasons. These may be due to child protection procedures, criminal procedures, family reasons etc. As a family support centre we are often asked to supervise parents when they are reunited with their children on a temporary basis. This is often necessary to maintain the family unit until a court decides what will be the outcome for child/children of the family. We write reports and make assessments for the courts to help them make decisions in the best interests of the children. This is very sensitive work and requires a great deal of experience and knowledge on behalf of the family support worker.
