Welcome to the Gamesley Early Excellence Centre web site!

Gamesley Early Excellence Centre is a fully integrated Children’s Centre, which provides early education, care and family support for children aged 0-11 years. We also provide enhanced resource facilities for children with additional needs.

We provide toy libraries, parent and toddler groups, adult education and crèche provision and we are a training centre for early year’s practitioners.

We are open from 7.30am to 6pm for 50 weeks of the year and we actively encourage families from all over the Glossopdale area to use our wonderful facilities.

We have been in operation from 1973 and we have been an Early Excellence Centre since 1999. We were designated a Sure Start Children’s Centre in 2006.

Our early year’s education is provided by Derbyshire Local Authority and our care facilities are provided by Gamesley Early Excellence Centre Community Interest Company.

We have been awarded several accolades and awards for our practice and we received two ‘OUTSTANDING’ Ofsted reports in 2002 and 2007. We are holders of The Charter Mark Award, The Health Promoting Schools Award, The Basic Skills Quality Mark, a BECTA ICT award and a NAACE mark ICT award.

We currently are in receipt of a REACHING COMMUNITIES Big Lottery grant which extends our facilities even further and provides a rich and exciting programme of community activities for Gamesley and the surrounding areas.
